TRIP OR BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR THE LITTLE ONES OF THE HOUSE?
28 April 2022
Upon returning from each trip we noticed that he acquired new skills, on this last trip we noticed that he became more independent and more talkative
It was recently the birthday of our little one (4 years old), and the question arose of how he would like to celebrate it, since last year we were looking at options and suggestions came up such as a reunion at home with the family, a lunch at a restaurant of his choice or somewhere to play games, the surprise came that he did not choose any of those options, he asked us to travel for his birthday, this birthday trip, which has become almost a tradition, gets him really exited, as we have commented on previous blogs the best way to get lower rates is to book in advance, this is how since October we have been reserving the flights and the hotels where we would stay, and planning and comparing rates we found many benefits of traveling to celebrate his birthday versus throw a party and we’ll leave it to you below.
1. THE FUN LASTS MUCH LONGER THAN A DAY
With a party, the experience of fun and sharing lasts only one day, which usually starts very early running from one place to another and making last minute coordination where this coordination can become the center of the day before the birthday person, when you travel, the fun and enjoyment lasts during the days you are traveling, a day before you pack your bags, wait for the time to go to the airport or bus station to board the plane or bus and at all times during those magical days the center of attention is the birthday boy and what he wants to do.
2. COST BENEFIT
Although the cost of a trip is not cheap, the benefit can be much higher, while a party involves expenses for food, drinks, surprises, arrangements, show (if one is chosen), what is paid only provides a few hours of fun and In cases where the party is held at home, you have to spend time cleaning up once the guests have said goodbye, on the other hand, a birthday trip can have different costs, even depending on the destination it can cost the same as a great party, but with the difference that the fun can last several days and the experiences and memories that these generate are usually much more satisfying and lasting, since the birthday person shares many special moments with their loved ones.
3. CONSTANT LEARNING
Traveling provides a richer experience in which, depending on the destination, you can get to know many new customs, music, culture, dances and foods, learn to socialize with different types of people and try new dishes, clothes and listen to music different from the one you are used to, in the case of a party the food is repetitive as well as the music and the shows commissioned for the entertainment of the little ones.
4. IT ALLOWS HIM TO EXPERIENCE NEW THINGS
This goes hand in hand with learning, on a trip they try new foods, drinks and enjoy activities that are not always within their reach, such as spending all day in the pool, walking through ruins and knowing how those who lived in that place lived in ancient times, building sand castles, dipping their feet in the sea, sailing a river, experiencing a different climate, seeing the stars in a different way, all of this broadens their horizons and allows them to better develop their lives.
5. HELPS IMPROVE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS
In our case, our little one’s birthday trips are only for the 3 of us, dad, mom and son, where we can forget a bit about work and routine and we can share moments that may not seem very important but that are imprinted in their memory, when he returns home he tells everyone about the sand castles he built with dad, the new juices or foods he tried, the games in the pool, how mom threw water at him, the places he met, and with great excitement he tells the stories of his adventure.
6. IMPROVES YOUR SOCIAL SKILLS
During the trip he has contact with people he does not know and probably with different customs from his, but by seeing how dad and mom behave and interact he learns what he should and should not do, we must bear in mind that as parents we are always looking after him and all his interactions are under our supervision, his safety is our responsibility.
7. LEARN TO ENJOY TRAVELING
Seeing how mom and dad prepare the trip and choose what to take in the suitcase, the little one learns not to stress and not take all his room and things that he probably won’t use, he learns what he should take to each destination and for the amount of days that the trip lasts, he enjoys the process and gets excited about the preparation process, when he grows up, traveling will probably be one of his priorities and he will enjoy the whole process from the reservation to the return home.
8. CREATE A CHANGE IN HIM
Upon returning from each trip we noticed that he acquired new skills, on this last trip we noticed that he became more independent and more talkative, he tells his stories with greater coherence and detail, he learned to use cutlery better (he is 4 years old), to choose food and drinks that he wants to try and every time he sees an advertisement for the beach he begins to tell how it was that we built a sand castle and how he helped to carry out this task, while mom went to the sea and threw buckets of water on him to cool off and he laughed at mom’s mischief.
9. VALUES THINGS MUCH MORE
He knows that every trip comes from a great effort, whether it is a full day near Lima or a great trip for his birthday, every time we tell him that we are planning a family trip, he gives us a big smile and gives us a big hug, and he knows that his parents work so that he can enjoy himself and now he tries to help us work by trying not to make too much noise when he plays because he knows that the trips he likes come from his parents’ work.
10. DEVELOPS THEIR COMMUNICATION SKILLS
When he returns from a trip, he has a lot of information to share with his grandparents and uncles, he has learned to organize himself and to tell his stories from his perspective, sometimes exaggerated, but increasingly coherent and with more details, he tells the funny things and does not stop to laugh, and asks us to show the photos so that he can better describe his journey.
These are just some of the benefits that we have noticed in our little one when traveling for his birthday and we hope to always be able to take him on a trip so that he can enjoy everything that Peru and the world have to show him.
It must be taken into account that not all children enjoy the same thing, there are those who prefer to celebrate their birthday surrounded by friends and family, there are others who do not like to be surrounded by many people and prefer to spend their day at home with mom and dad and a cake, and they are all very good ways to celebrate, it is not necessary to plan a big trip, a fullday close to home, a visit to the beach, a trip to the zoo or a destination that does not cause a great expense are enough to have an exciting and fun birthday that will remain as one of their favorite memories.
As always, we are at your service if you want us to take care of planning a special trip for the birthday boy or girl.
Do not forget to tell us which of all your birthdays you consider special and what made it so.
We see you in the next Traveler Blog.
Greetings.
