HAPPY CREOLE SONG DAY
31 October 2022
For Peruvians who live abroad, listening to our music is teleporting for a few minutes to their homeland, traveling back in time to the time of their life in Peru, family and friends.
Today in Peru we celebrate the day of the Creole Song, a day of festivity and joy remembering our music, fusion of Spanish, African sounds and all the cultural mixture that was lived in that time in old Lima and the alleys of a single spout, where the jarana was lived and enjoyed with dances, music and a range of delicious dishes.
This day was designated by President Manuel Prado Ugarteche in 1944 to pay homage to Creole interpreters and musicians who transmit to each of us pieces of our history and feelings of nostalgia for our homeland.
For Peruvians who live abroad, listening to our music is teleporting for a few minutes to their homeland, traveling back in time to the time of their life in Peru, family and friends, it’s like wanting to go visit the old neighborhood, remembering the pranks, the parties, the customs of your city, listening to “Y me llamo Peru” with the voice of EL ZAMBO CAVERO and the guitar of maestro OSCAR AVILÉS can evoke tears of nostalgia, hearing the unique voice of LUCHA REYES can take us to the time of our grandparents, at the time of the RPP lunch, tea time with the family, conversations with friends, old customs that are lost over time and development.
Although it is true that in Peru Halloween has been adopted as one of our parties, Creole Music does not lose its place, many Halloween parties today are celebrated with our music, there are even people who dress up as our singers, in the restaurants move disguised to the rhythm of EVA AYLLÓN or LUCÍA DE LA CRUZ, it can be said that Peru is one of the best in merging customs and bringing them to its reality and making them part of its culture.
Today we know that you are preparing your grills, clay pots and your costumes to celebrate tonight, that is why we leave you our top 10 Creole songs in the following link.
And we also leave you a 30-minute playlist with songs to sing at the top of your lungs with our friends clicking here.
Enjoy this night as you wish, but always accompanied by our great music.
Happy Creole Song Day, Happy Halloween
