Day 01: IQUITOS – SINCHICUY LODGE
Reception at the airport, presentation of your expert naturist guide and transfer to the pier to start the boat trip to our lodge. Downstream navigation on the Amazon River. Arrival at the Amazonas Sinchicuy Lodge, which is 45 minutes (downstream NE) from Iquitos. Our lodge, built in the native style with natural materials, is surrounded by trees, plants and flowers, a true tropical garden on high non-flooded terrain or “restinga”, where varieties of birds and butterflies abound. ECOCULTURAL Circuit (Ecosystem of the Sinchicuy River Basin) Excursion on foot or by canoe –as the season allows- to “Nuevo Perú”, where a community of the Yagua ethnic group is established, whose ancestors were discovered by Francisco de Orellana in his first exploration of the Amazon in 1541. Lunch. Upon your return to the lodge, you will appreciate a beautiful sunset when the sky is tinged with pink, gold and purple tones reflecting on the river while the shadows of the night gradually envelop the great jungle. Also, if you wish, our staff will share with you moments of music and song for a relaxing after-dinner that will lead you to the best of dreams. Overnight at Sinchicuy Lodge.
Day 02: SINCHICUY LODGE
Birdwatching: During the early hours of the morning (05:00 to 06:00 hrs) to be able to observe many of the species of birds that feed on the banks of the River. Breakfast. Immediately afterwards you will board the boat that will transport you to the opposite end of the Amazon towards the riverside community of “huashalado”, it is possible to observe the pink dolphins. Upon reaching the community of “huashalado” you will be able to observe plantations of yucca, banana, papaya and other typical products of riverside agriculture. By boat, you will follow the course of the Yanayacu River to explore this area rich in avian fauna, whose species include kingfishers, hawks, herons, etc. and finally after a time of travel through the dark waters of the Yanayacu River you will arrive at our lodge, then we will continue with the walk through the jungle that will take you to know the “Kingdom of the Giant Trees” during the walk you will know some species of medicinal plants, like the “sachajergón”, the “ojé”, the “tree bread” and the well-known “cat’s claw” (Uncaria Tormentosa); It is also possible to find bromeliads (epiphytic plants) that grow high up in trees. But without a doubt the one that provokes the greatest admiration, among the trees is the “lupuna” (Ceiba pentandra) that exceeds 50 meters in height, which can be seen from a great distance. And get to know an interesting lagoon (YAGUA cocha), where it is possible to observe the most representative aquatic plant the Victoria Regia and the hoatzin. Return to the lodge. Lunch, you will do an entertaining fishing in the river using native techniques that will allow you to catch piranhas, mojarras, etc. Return trip to the Amazon Sinchicuy Lodge. Upon arrival you will enjoy time to rest in the hammocks or in the viewpoint or in the “Clavohuasca Bar”. You will also have canoes to take a walk through the calm waters of the Sinchicuy River before dark. Dinner. Overnight at Sinchicuy Lodge.
Day 03: SINCHICUY LODGE – IQUITOS
Breakfast. After a fortifying breakfast, your guide will then invite you to participate in the ceremony to plant a tree in the reforestation area near the lodge. To later visit the community of Fátima to observe some of the varieties of wild animals such as monkeys, achunis, macaws, toucans, boas and lizards, which are found in semi-captivity. Lunch, in the afternoon last moments for photographic shots and then start our return to the Iquitos airport.
